Clinician Bio

Approach to Therapy

I believe in the importance of feeling secure with your clinician, and I strive for my clients to feel safe, heard and validated during every session with me. My approach encompasses both behavioral and psychodynamic theories, or an integrated approach, meaning we can address current thought patterns and behaviors and work collectively on short-term goals and solutions, while also considering your personality, family history, and experiences to address the underlying causes of your long-term challenges; I believe the combination of both can provide a benefit, as individualized therapeutic approaches can provide the most insight. I use a very person-centered, emotionally focused and contextual theoretical approach while combining the knowledge of family systems as a lens in which I can better understand every person I work with.

Background

I obtained my MSW degree in 2021 from the University of Saint Joseph in West, Hartford, CT and have been in private practice for the past 4 years. Additionally, I have worked in multiple agencies, in inpatient acute care settings, and have conducted both family and group therapy for the last 4 years for part-time work. I have worked extensively with children, adolescents, adults, couples, family units, and group-based therapy settings such as facilitating PHP (Partial-Hospitalization Programs) and IOP (Intensive Outpatient Programs). Specific extensive training I have completed includes CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), FBT (Family-Based Therapy), and ASAM (substance use and addiction training). Furthermore, I have a love for working with clients in the LGBTQIA+ community and have had extensive training addressing the unique needs and challenges of members in the community.

Ideal Clients

My ideal client population is individuals combating anxiety, depression, substance use or someone experiencing distress with an eating disorder. I also enjoy working with adults or adolescents who have unresolved trauma, are experiencing a major life transition, a divorce, have been presented with parenting challenges or are experiencing relationship or family conflict. I also enjoy working with couples, family units and groups with similarities, and find it very rewarding building a community of support and encouragement.

About Me

I have a love for nature, animals, music, food and art, and enjoy spending time with my son and family whenever possible. I have always enjoyed meeting new people and learning from others, and building close connections, while being a supportive and helpful person.
