1. Who is Clinician List for?
Clinician List – Frequently Asked Questions
Clinician List is designed primarily for licensed therapists to connect with one another — to send and receive referrals, and to list or browse therapy groups. While the platform is clinician-focused, the public can also view listings. If a client finds a therapist or group here, that’s a welcome bonus — but our core mission is peer-to-peer support within the mental health field.
2. Can I use this to find referrals for my clients?
Yes — that’s one of our main goals. Clinician List makes it easy to locate trusted professionals for referrals, continuity of care, or specialized services. All profiles are verified to ensure accuracy and licensure.
3. How do you verify clinicians?
Each clinician is asked to provide their active license(s) and NPI. These are not displayed publicly but are securely stored in the profile. Our team manually checks state licensing boards and the NPI registry to confirm identity and ensure there are no disciplinary actions. Once verified, listings go live and receive a “Verified” badge.
4. Can I list a therapy group I’m running?
Yes. When adding a new listing, simply choose Group instead of Therapist Profile. You can share details about group focus, structure, population served, format (in-person/online), and scheduling.
5. Can I list a practice or organization?
No. Each listing should represent an individual therapist or a therapy group that they personally facilitate. This keeps the directory focused, clear, and easy to navigate. Practice-wide listings are not supported at this time.
6. Is there a cost to use Clinician List?
Right now, Clinician List is completely free — including profile creation, group listings, and all platform features. We may explore future options to sustain the platform, but currently, everything is open and available at no cost.
7. Who can see my profile or group listing?
Listings are publicly viewable. While the site is built for therapists, anyone — including potential clients or community partners — can access and browse profiles. This public visibility can boost your professional presence and search engine visibility.
8. What are the requirements to join?
You must be a licensed mental health professional with an active NPI. You may list yourself in any U.S. state where you’re licensed. Once submitted, your license(s) and NPI are reviewed and verified before your profile is published.
9. How do I search for a therapist or therapy group?
Start by selecting your state from the homepage. To refine your search, click More Details and choose filters based on specialty, format, or population served. You’ll find both therapist profiles and therapy groups — each with detailed information and direct contact options.
10. What makes Clinician List different from other directories?
Clinician List was built from the ground up by practicing therapists — not marketing firms. It’s tailored specifically for therapist-to-therapist networking, with simple, elegant tools to share referrals and promote group offerings. No clutter. No upsells. Just connection.
