Clinician Bio

About my approach (style) to therapy…

I specialize in helping men and women who have been impacted by a history or
single incidence of trauma. I help individuals reprocess these memories in a
healthy and adaptive way so you can look back on the painful experience & not
have your body flooded with the memory of that experience. I use a gentle
approach while helping individuals work through their trauma to decrease the
distress associated with their past. I use evidence based trauma therapies to
include EMDR and Cognitive Processing Therapy so you can move forward with
your life without being controlled and directed by those memories.

About my background and training…

I have 20 years of experience in the field of mental health, working
with individuals and specializing in depression, anxiety and developmental or
single incidence trauma. I work with individuals and Veterans who struggle with
PTSD. I take a holistic and trauma-informed approach. I am a member of the
National Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapists and trained in EMDR and
Cognitive Processing Therapy.

About my work (ideal clients)…

As a fellow human being and trauma therapist, I can appreciate what it’s like to be an individual engaged in healing work. It can be scary to revisit the past. I am committed to helping you experience an environment that normalizes symptoms allowing you to heal from painful wounds and experience relief to view the world through a new lens that you may never have thought possible. I am committed to ongoing research & learning new therapeutic techniques to enhance my practice. I am dedicated to allowing you to experience an environment of safety without judgment to be free to let go of the heaviness of being burdened from a wounded past. I offer continued support & compassion as you embark on your healing journey and triumph over your past.

About me (personal interests)…

I am an introverted book worm who loves to research and study a wide range of
topics to include genealogy, history, true crime and continued learning in the field
of mental health. I have two dogs, Jessee and Lillee and two cats, Miss Priss and
Charley Pride. It’s a full house and they keep me great company.
