Empathetic, creative, and dedicated, my therapeutic style is about collaborating in a supportive environment to increase your confidence in healing, self-management, and feeling better! It’s easy to feel stuck, overwhelmed, or not know where to start. Together we can use strategies to move forward. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified School Psychologist, I use a variety of therapeutic techniques. Additionally, as an artist, I specialize in working with other artists and entrepreneurs managing challenges related to wellness and self-esteem. I teach mindfulness and coping skills to reduce feelings of anxiety, self-doubt, and depression. I work with all ages, children to adults and believe in using a personalized approach to best meet your specific needs. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and certified School Psychologist. I received my Certificate of Advanced Study and Masters Degree in School Psychology from Fairfield University in Connecticut with training in supporting issues related to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, bereavement, social skills, and trauma. I also have a Certificate in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) from the Albert Ellis Institute in New York, NY. With over fifteen years of experience in the public schools, I have a passion for child development and family engagement. I have an array of experience of working with children on multiple educational levels and with varied needs. Additionally, I have cultivated my skills for emotional well-being during my time at Cooperative Educational Services, Therapeutic Day Program in Trumbull, Connecticut. As a School Psychologist I have completed comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations, conducted functional behavioral assessments, developed behavioral interventions, and engaged in individual/group counseling with both regular and special education students daily. I also offer parent sessions regarding school/home concerns. As an artist and entrepreneur I have experience developing and facilitating therapeutic workshops. I specialize in working with children and teens that experience anxiety, self-esteem, social, and adjustment challenges. I am passionate about collaborative counseling and empowering my clients to understand their difficulties, observe their growth, challenge their maladaptive patterns, and celebrate their successes. I work with adults who are experiencing anxiety or panic symptoms and ruminating thoughts. My goal is to provide you with the skills you need to overcome self-doubt, depression, or break negative patterns. Lastly, as an artist and entrepreneur I work with other self-starters to better understand themselves and incorporate wellness into their daily practice. I love to paint and use art to express myself or unwind. I have a rescue dog who I take with me on adventures. Yoga is my happy place as well as the beach!Julia Liptak, LPC
